Care & Cleaning
General
All our products are very easy to look after. Never use a washing machine, tumble dryer, or solvents on your bag. Never take it to dry-cleaning. When not in use, store in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight, avoid hanging bags to give the handles a rest, and don't fold or store them under anything heavy, but instead stuff them so they keep their original shape.
It is best to avoid using your bag in heavy downpours. If the bag does get wet, wipe off any water and let it dry naturally. If it gets dirty, use a white cloth and water to dampen the stain, without scrubbing or making it wet. Allow to air dry.
Hair-on
Occasionally brush your bag to get rid of any dust or debris. If it gets stained, act quickly, as the stain will become harder to remove if you wait. Combine a cup of warm water with a few drops of liquid detergent, dip a clean cloth and gently blot the hair-on. Rinse using the same method, but with only warm water this time. Let it air dry out of the sun.
Note: You have to know that shedding may occur depending on how often you use your bag, and the wear can happen quicker on certain spots, for instance on the side of the bag that rubs against your hip. It is totally normal, as our hair-on skins are 100% natural.
Hair-on bags are not exactly designed to wear everyday, since continuous friction can and will cause hair loss. We recommend rotating your hair-on bag and treating it with great care, it is a delicate product! Ultimately, if you don't feel comfortable with it, take a look at our other skin options, such as full grain leather, which is extremely durable.
Full Grain Leather
We recommend the use of a specialized leather cream to help repel water and nourish the leather (try it on a small hidden portion of the bag first).
If it gets stained, act quickly, as the stain will become harder to remove if you wait. Combine a cup of warm water with a few drops of liquid detergent, dip a clean cloth and gently rub the leather. Rinse using the same method, but with only warm water this time. Let it air dry out of the sun. Condition when fully dry.
Python & Cobra
Snakeskin is durable and water resistant but the scales are very sensitive. Cleaning must be done with extreme care, always in the direction of the scales, to avoid friction against the grain and so the scales don't stand up. We recommend the use of a specialized cream to help nourish the skin so it does not become dry and brittle (try it on a small hidden portion of the bag first). Condition your snakeskin products at least once a month.
Alligator
It is one of the most durable exotic leathers but need proper care to last several years. If your product gets wet, act quickly by drying it with a clean cloth. We recommend the use of a leather conditioner designed for alligator skin (try it on a small hidden portion of the product first). Be on the lookout for any sign of damage, because when the leather cracks, it is too late!
Bags : condition at least once a month. Gently wipe when you see dust building up.
Belts : condition at least twice a year, on both sides. When not in use, hang it from the buckle or roll very loosely.
Wallet/Passport holder : condition at least once a month.
Shoes : condition at least once a month. Avoid wearing them more than one day in a row, as moisture will damage them.
Canvas
Never overheat any dirty or wet area, let dry naturally. Use a soft brush to brush off the dirt, and a slightly damp white cloth to slowly remove the stain. If the stain does not go away with water, you may need some liquid detergent or a specialized stain product (try it on a small portion of the bag first).
